A car takes 5 hours to cover a particular distance at a uniform speed of 60 km / hr ==> distance covered = spd*time =60*5=300 km

With speed of 40 km/hr ==> 300 km = spd*time=40*x ==>x=300/40=7.5hr

So the answer is 7.5 hr

5:60km/hr

X:40km/hr

Cross multiplication

5 of 40km/hr = x 0f 60km/hr

200=60x

X=3.33hrs

60 km/hr are taken by a car in 5hrs
1km/hr is taken by a car in (5/60)hrs
40km/hr are taken by a car in [(5/60)x40]hrs
implying 200/60
= 20/6 , dividing by two throuhgout

= 10/3 hours

Therefore a car takes 10/3 hours to cover a distance of 40km/hr.
